Right after Graduation I started my job as a Production Assistant and Preditor for Major League Baseball. I was responsible for all digital content for a specific game that was used on the MLB At Bat App. Every game consisted of several full game recaps, condensed games, manager post-games, and player highlights. Above is one of the pieces we cut every shift, a 90 second YouTube recap that we worked on alongside VO talent. This is one of dozens I worked on during the season. Enjoy!
Working with MLB taught me how to edit quickly, precisely, and efficiently. We would often have to cut anywhere from 10-20 videos off two live feeds on a nightly basis. One of the more involved clips we would have to cut is Must C's, 60 second videos of incredible highlights that deserve mixed radio and TV calls as well as extra replays. Here is one that I cut from the same game as above. Notice the condensed version of the two home runs in the YouTube 90 compared to the extended cut in the Must C. Enjoy!
My eigth and final semester at Syracuse, I had the opportunity to take a Cinematography class. It allowed me to take the necessary steps to become as adept behind the camera, as I am in front of a computer editing or writing. Our assignment was to create one non-fiction and one fiction short. We decided to not do that. This short is our non-fiction, which is a fictionalized, mockumentary retelling of the making of our fiction project... which we hadn't even started yet. I wrote, directed, edited, and was DP for this. Enjoy!
This was the fiction short that we created for our cinematography class. Again, we decided to bend the rules a little bit. This is a FICTIONALIZED retelling of the making of the fiction we described in the Non-Fiction. If it doesn't make sense, good! Because it won't make sense when you watch the video either. I wrote, ran sound, and edited this project. Enjoy!
The story of a perilous journey across these United States by two boys tied together by a single thread: the name Justin. In August of 2016, my friend Justin and I went on a roadtrip from Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio to Los Angeles, California. I was lucky enough to shoot and edit the entire chronicle in to one handy, dandy video. Enjoy!
In the Summer of 2016 I was lucky enough to be an intern with MTV On-Air Promos. While I was there I had the ability to write, direct and edit a promo for their newest show, Unlocking The Truth. The show followed two investigators as they dove deep in to three wrongfully convicted prisoners.
As the DKA Recruitment Chair I wrote, directed, and edited this nifty little recruitment video! Check it out!
In 2015 and 2016 I was the Lead Producer on Orange Television Network's longest running program, The Review Crew. Over the two semesters we produced 20 episodes that aired on the network and 20 YouTube Exclusive webisodes. This is one of my personal favorites, a webisode we shot at the 2016 DKA Oscar Party. I wanted to just give you a taste of this amazing show but If you would like to see any of the other episodes or webisodes, please let me know!
Our President Donald Trump looks and acts like an overwritten movie super villain. I decided to edit together a short video to prove it. This was the first in a series that I might have to continue called, Trump Hard.
Being part of the National Professional Cinematic Arts Fraternity, Delta Kappa Alpha, has provided me the opportunity to work with some really fantastic people. Here is a quick video I shot and edited about my time with them at our retreat.
